I just wrapped up a 4 day online course by Emily King called Money & Miracles. In it, she spoke about taking time every day to recognize the small miracles that are constantly happening in our lives. She spoke about the importance of this in terms of the Law of Attraction (if you haven't heard of The Law of Attraction, I would encourage you to google it - there is so much written about it and Abraham Hicks is a well recognized expert in the field). Essentially, it's the idea that like attracts like. So if you are constantly putting out vibrations of positivity, happiness, joy, wealth, success - those are the things/people/situations you will attract in your life. If you are putting out negative vibes, those are what you will also get back in your life. So the idea is that if you recognize the small miracles that are constantly happening in your life, and feel gratitude for these things, you are then more likely to bring the big miracles into your life because the Universe is always working in our favor and giving us what we want. It knows what we want by the vibrations/thoughts/energy that we emit. That's why it's so essential to focus on the positive and happy things in your life if that is what you want more of.
It all makes perfect sense, even though for some it may seem a bit "woo woo". In any case, if you are interested in an easy way to keep recognizing the small miracles in your life, Emily recommended having a Miracle Moments journal. I created an easy google doc that I pop into as often as I can (I aim for once a day), where I jot down the things that are small miracles in my life. They fall into a few different categories - tangible (real things, people, or outcomes that have come into my life), creative (aha moments), feelings of gratitude, and coincidence (when things seem to line up, be in sync or in flow). I take note of what happened that day or the day before in any of these categories, and I focus on the feelings that come along with these small (or big!) miracles.
It's a beautiful and easy practice to add to your journaling and a great way to recognize the ways in which the Universe is always working in your favor. After all, if you don't recognize the small things, why would you be getting the big stuff? The Universe doesn't reward ungratefulness. It's like being a spoiled child with only eyes for the prize -- if that child discarded all the other awesome birthday gifts they got while waiting for the one shiny new bike, why would anyone even want to give them the fancy expensive bike in the first place?? I loved this analogy :)
Hope you enjoy this practice and it helps you manifest all the shiny new bikes you want in your life! <3
