My Approach
There is no one size fits all approach with health coaching. I focus on getting to know you and understanding your goals, your motivations and ultimately your dreams for being the healthiest version of yourself. For this reason, I prefer to meet clients face to face, but if in-person sessions are hard (I get it, we all have a million things going on and traveling often cuts into precious time), I also use video chat.
I have training in 100 different dietary theories and learned about a host of different ailments. But some of the most common health concerns that I help clients with are:
The first step towards working with me is to schedule an initial consultation. This 30-45 minute session is complementary, and the purpose is to go through some basic questions about your health history as well as your health goals. This is a great way for us to meet (either in person or virtually), and see whether we are a good fit to work together. Health coaching is very personal, and it's important to me that it feels right for both of us - especially that we like each other. After all, it is at least a 6 month "relationship" that I'm asking you to commit to!
After the initial consultation covering health history and background, I take time to understand your goals, and together, we craft a plan of action to reach those goals. There will be mapped out milestones to reach along the course of the journey. 6 months may seem like a long time, but it is the ideal amount of time needed to establish true habits and see real change. I don't prescribe a list of foods that you can and cannot eat, rather, I focus on what's working for you currently and what's not serving you well. Additionally, I go beyond the food on your plate (although I will help you with quick, easy and healthy recipes!), and look at other areas of your life including physical exercise, relationships, career, spirituality, and everything in between. I do this because an imbalance in one area of your life can greatly contribute to imbalances in others like eating and overall health.
I work on helping you make small, gradual lifestyle changes, that add up in the long-term because they are changes that stick. The changes I help you to introduce in your life can and will lead to an overall healthier you. I truly believe optimal health is a journey, a mindset, a way of life..and one that I can help you on.
