What Lights Your Soul on Fire?

I wanted to share my latest thoughts because I get really fired up when I think about this:

Life is just too short to waste any time playing small.  What lights your soul on fire?  Find out, and go do it.  You owe it to the preciousness of your life to go do it - no excuses - with nothing getting in the way of pursuing it.  Yes, I get that sometimes we have to be patient, because we can't do everything all at once - for example, I have two young kids and so right now, it's very hard for me to logistically travel the world or even make it to a ton of evening events during the week, but I know that eventually, I want to do these things, and a whole lot more.  I want to write a book.  I want to stand on stage in a room full of women and share these things with them...all of them.  But I am waiting, and working, and doing things slowly.  I want to build it all.

Life comes in waves, over and over, and it doesn't stop- just like the ocean.  Sometimes we are riding the waves high, sometimes they are crashing to the ground around us, and things ebb and flow.  But the ocean doesn't just part ways and give you an easy path to cross.  You can't just walk through the middle of it.  No, you have to make your way through the tide.  When it gives you some leeway, you go.  You go and you shine.  Then you stop, breath, tread water, and then push on again.  You have to be patient, but there's a difference between patience and complacency.  No getting complacent, no losing sight of those things that light you on fire.  When you lose sight, you get complacent, and you might as well stop pushing and swimming, because then what's the point?  If you want to make it all the way across, you better be ready to keep swimming hard.

You don't settle when you know you have something that should be shared with the world.  You have to find a way to share it.  It may take time, but your time will come if you stay true to yourself.  You are what and where you are meant to be.  As Natalie Elizabeth Ellis (of bossbabe.inc) said: "Stand in your authentic brilliance.  Accept Your Power.  You are inspiring people you don't even see."

So find what lights your soul on fire and share it with the world.  You owe to yourself, and your life, to do so.
